Frequently asked questions

Where are we?   We are an independent recording studio called Audio Sorcery based in a picturesque village called Frant near Tunbridge Wells, Kent. We have been established since 1999 and started our recording experience gift company (Gift Daze) in May 2000. We cover all aspects of recording from voiceovers for radio, music for films, jingles for advertising and websites, rock, pop and punk bands etc. We have now done over 3000 Gift Daze experiences and have over 1000  customer reviews . See our  location page for how to get here or see the  picture gallery for shots of our studios.

Parking?   We have lots of free parking just outside our studio, so brings your cars, minibuses or tour coach!

What happens when it snows?   If we (or you) have to cancel an appointment due to snow (ie. hazardous driving conditions) we will move the session booking to another date mutually agreeable. There is no penalty cost.

How long is an experience valid for?   Our gift vouchers are valid for a minimum of one year from the date of purchase. You can extend the period if you need to by  logging in here.

Opening times?   We are open 7 days a week, from 10am to 6pm, excluding some bank holidays. We can open later by special arrangement (Hen parties etc).

Can I extend the gift voucher I was given?   Yes you can easily online.  log in here to extend the duration of your gift voucher before it expires.

Can I upgrade the gift voucher I was given?   Yes you can easily online.  log in here to upgrade your gift voucher to a bigger experience, or different experience to the same value or more.

What do I get with my experience purchase   We'll send you a  personalised gift voucher (personalise once you've put your experience in the shopping basket) inside a case of your colour choice, a brochure, directions to the studio, a free vocal tips CD (for singing experiences) and party invites and a Pop Star Party fact sheet (for Pop Star Parties). This will normally be sent 1st class on the same day as your order (before 3pm), or you can choose to send special next day delivery.

Can I buy more CD's or DVD's on the day   Yes you can. Simply tell your producer what you'd like to take home with you at the end of the session. For current prices on extra CD's or DVD's, see our  extra's page here.

What's our nearest train station?   Our nearest train station is Wadhurst, and that's on the Charing Cross to Hastings line. Cabs do not wait outside the station, so we recommend you book a cab to "Audio Sorcery recording studios, Knowle Farm Business Centre", otherwise your walk will be approx 1 mile on a fast road with little or no pavements. For cab numbers see our  location page in the right hand column.

Can you use a track that is not on your search list?   You may bring in your own backing tracks on CD or memory stick for use in the studio. There are various ways to get backing tracks. See  Bring your own tracks for details.

Do we use Autotune?   We have the very latest technologies at our studios including Antares Autotune, Celemony Melodyne and Waves Tune. They can be used to varying degrees depending on a number of factors like (a) If the original song used it or (b) if the singer is a little flat (or sharp) in places or (c) if you can't sing at all but it's a good laugh (like on x-factor)! Of course we don't have to use it and that's your preference - just tell the producer during your session.

Can you make me sound great!   Yes! Our expertise and knowledge behind the mixing desk ensures you leave the studio with a top quality production. See over 1000  customer reviews left by satisified Gift Daze customers.

Can you pitch a track up or down?   Yes we can. We use one of the best Pitch shifting algorithm's to enable us to pitch the track up or down by 3 or 4 semi-tones with virtually no side effects in quality whatsoever. More if you need to take drastic measures!

Can you remove vocals from an original song?   No. There is no way of doing this without compromising the quality of the music. It sounds simply dreadful.
