Gift Daze is Audio Sorcery's very own professional recording experience company, and this website went live on May 7th 2000. We have continued to provide high levels of adrenaline, fun and satisfaction for many thousands of experience goers, young and old, ever since.
Audio Sorcery is a Kent & East Sussex based recording studio boasting a team of dedicated professionals who strive to achieve outstanding results for all clients no matter how large or small the production, assignment or brief.
The studio was formed in 1999 by Paul Midcalf and through his diligence and outstanding reputation the business has steadily grown and evolved into a multi functional recording centre now boasting two state of the art purpose built studios, completed in April 2008.
Paul Midcalf - Producer
Paul started life as a computer geek selling his first computer game to Alan Sugar age 16. Paul soon discovered his love of music was matched by a significant musical talent and a keen interest in the industry itself. At the age of 17, he began to learn how to play a range of percussion instruments and soon became a drummer in an established local band. His passion for music led to an introduction to Production at the tender age of 19 and he now boasts over 20 years experience in this field.
Since opening his first professional studio in 1999, Paul has worked with many musicians and bands, including a number of international repute such as Roger Daltrey, David Essex, Mitch Mitchell (The Jimmy Hendrix Experience) and The Anti Nowhere League. He has also successfully composed and produced a number of musical scores and jingles used in both TV and Film, working with the BBC and various major advertising agencies including Bartle Bogle Hegarty.
Kev Amos - Producer
Kev Amos has a vast array of relevant expertise and skill as he has specialised in the sound industry for 25 years in various recording studios and television production companies.
He has worked successfully with literally hundreds of bands and artists on a wide variety of TV shows such as The Word, Whistle Test, CD: UK and more recently Ibiza Rocks.
The most famous artists in his portfolio include Kaiser Chiefs, Frattellis, Kasabian, Mika, Mark Ronson, James Blunt, Hard Fi, Jamie Cullum, CSS, NYPC, Dirty Pretty Things, G4, Barry Gibb, Westlife, Bernhard Greenhouse (world famous cellist), John Miller Orchestra (Glenn's cousin) and The Enemy to name but a few...
Kev is an accomplished, active musician in his own right, currently gigging regularly across the South East of England with The Varlies, a band he formed in 1992.
Ben Braund - Producer
Ben joins Audio Sorcery from the world of dance music. He's played various instruments for 23 years, DJ'ed for 17 years all over the world (including Ibiza, Russia and South Africa) and has been producing for 11.
He is currently one half of Braund Reynolds who produced the national hit 'Rocket - A Natural Gambler'. The track, released in 2005, was the only track to be simultaneously honoured as Pete Tong's 'Tune of the Month', Jo Whiley's 'Pet Sound' & Scott Mills' 'Weekend Anthem'. Chris Moyles played it twice in a row.
Ben's been tipped by Fatboy Slim, Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk) and Mixmag as 'one to watch' and has remixed the likes of Eric Clapton (officially!), The Young Punx, The Stereo MCs and Supermal.
Dale Nash - Producer
Dale joined the Audio Sorcery team in the summer of 2008 shortly after finishing a 2 year Music Technology college at Sixth Form College.
From an early age Dale has been bought up around music, first attending Glastonbury festival when he was 4!
Dale has been singing all his life and playing bass for 8 years. He also plays in two locally established bands - "In Tyler We Trust" and "The Monday Night Project". They have played in Germany and supporting such acts as ‘InMe' and ‘Rooster', as well being crowd best band in the regional battle of the bands for music on the meadow festival. Dale was also praised as ‘Best front man' in this competition!
Carol Navis - Marketing
Carol comes from a very different background - with a focus on events, tourism and hospitality. Her previous roles have included Sales , Marketing and Public / Media Relations. Carol's professional experience and skills-set has given Audio Sorcery a professional edge and competitive advantage.
Carol was personally responsible for the successful launch in 2000 of Gift Daze Recording Studio experiences and co-ordinates the media training and team building events.
