The Pop Star Party platinum brings a group of 8 singers to our studio live rooms to perform a hit song of their choice and have it expertly mixed and produced by our in-house engineer. Pay 20% deposit for early bookings. Please call 01892 752117 for availability.
Choose a Song
Once you have decided who's in the pop group and asked them to the party using the supplied invitations, you need to choose the song to be sung from our backing track library, or you may bring your own on CD if you'd prefer. Popular choices at this time include songs from Mamma Mia! (the movie), High School Musical, Girls Aloud, Sugababes & Amy Winehouse. Print the lyrics on either one or two sheets of paper for each singer.
Rehearsing before your recording session
To get the best from a Pop Star Party, we recommend a group rehearsal prior to your studio session. If the group are confident enough to do solo parts then clearly mark who-is-doing-what on your lyrics sheets as the producer may ask for a copy. There is enough time to sort out solo parts during the session if none have been pre-determined.
The recording studio experience day
On arrival, and before commencing with the recording session, a few pictures of the entire group in their best pop star poses are taken. You will also be asked to choose a name for your Group. "Girls Are Loud" or "Suga Kids" are just some examples of recent names chosen by over 350 parties we have held at our studios. This together with the best picture will create your Souvenir Picture CD, which is given to every singing participant at the end of the session.
Enter the Live Room
Now it's to the studio live room! While parents and guardians stay behind in the Green Room to watch and listen on our 32" LCD screen and studio monitoring system from the comfort of the large green sofa, the singers take position and put headphones on. They'll hear themselves, the music, and the recording engineer who takes a seperate position in the main control room. Three rehearsal takes are then performed and recorded to build up the confidence; with a listen back to each one whilst you stay in the live room. We normally recommend that everyone sings the first take through all together, even if Solo parts have been organised for different parts of the song. This gives everyone a chance to warm up the voices and get re-familiarised with the track. This is also a good time for those dance routines to be captured on DVD (optional extra), as dancing is not recommended during the real takes.
The Real Takes
After your short break for drinks, it's back to the live room for three real takes. The best bits from all three takes are then compiled together by the producer to form one perfectly formed track ready to be "burnt" on to your Souvenir Picture CD's for taking home at the end of your session.
Birthday Cake
While your finished session is being mixed and mastered, you have a little time to enjoy a few snacks or a birthday cake should you wish to bring food. The Green Room is an ideal place for this with its comfortable seating area and large table. You'll also get to see some the DVD replayed through the 32" LCD TV and monitoring system should you have chosen the DVD option. The Green Room is communally shared with Studio 1 and Studio 2 and there is a simple control panel to switch the TV and monitoring system between each studio should it be required. This does not effect the making of your optional DVD video.
The Finished Mix
After snacks or cake, and just before closing, all the singers are invited to listen to the finished mix and to hear just how the producer has worked his magic and turned the group into international superstar "sound-a-like'ees"!
